Hello, I'm Samantha, a freelance Graphic Designer, working mainly for a digital media company based in Palma de Mallorca with the primary role of an editorial designer, creating magazines for print and online.

 

Due to some unexpected circumstances, I was given the opportunity to expand further on my project management abilities. For the layouts, Adobe InDesign is the to-go software to produce the magazines. Perfectly complemented with Adobe Illustrator when more complex graphics are required. And Photoshop is involved at times, specially when hand-drawn illustrations are part of the combo.

Other everyday tasks I’m able to work on are:

- Websites design (just the design, work close with the developer).

- Social media support, creating graphics, and curating the visual aspect.

- Design and creation of banners for websites and newsletter.

- Creation of 1 or 2-page adverts (to include in the magazines).

- Corporate docs like contracts, presentations, Media packs, etc.

- Anything needed by colleagues related to visuals, typography, layouts, window decorations, mood boards, presentations, contracts, etc.

 

With with this company, we’ve worked also on some branding projects. where we had plenty of room for creativity and thinking. I had the chance to lead the graphic design aspect, coming up with logotypes, merchandising and stationary suggestions, website design, and social media proposals; including newsletters. In addition, I’ve been involved in other branding / marketing consultancies, performing presentations for improvements in already existing websites and updating existing logos. For these projects, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe XD and Adobe Photoshop were dynamic team.

 

When choosing projects / work spaces, an important aspect to take the final decision is to share values and visions with the client, project or organisation. For me, teamwork is crucial; a mix of taking ownership over individual responsibilities for the benefit of the project, being aware that there are other people involved who are as committed and excited to achieve the best results. Good communication, organisation and planing are keys for great collaborations and even better outcomes. 

 

Born -31 years ago- and raised in Peru, with German roots, lived in Zurich for almost 2 years (2016-2018), did a Graphic Design internship for a year in a Swiss company, left Zurich to travel for some months before landing in Mallorca, where I enjoyed life for the last 4 years.

Language-wise, Spanish, English, and German are the languages that I can rely on, and feel comfortable, for communication with other fellow humans. I understand all of them quite well, am fluent in speaking, reading and writing.
